our kitchen unveiling

Ta da...so here she is. What do you think? A touch girlie, I know, I really had to restrain Martin from any more of it!! Martin keeps asking if it's the dolls house kitchen I had always dreamt of - I hadn't really ever imagined a kitchen like this but it just transpired - obviously a sub-concious mind full of all things girlie that even a kitchen doesn't get away with it! Of course I had my ideas board for inspiration too...remember this post?

There are still bits and pieces to sort out (isn't there always) but she was a long time coming so to us she's just perfect! She used to be an old parlour room, hence the fireplace, which I might add I fought hard against everyone who came here and said we should rip it out (what and just throw her away?!). Our new extension is the other half of this room (to the left in the photo) which has yet to be finished enough for it's photo opportunity. Anyhow, more kitchen details later, for now, what do you think? Finally, here are a couple more snaps, this time not so pretty....the before and during.

Wow Sharon, I looove it. It could easily feature in a magazine. I adore the girly touches, I'm always trying to add girly touches to our kitchen, but as hubby does most of the cooking, I don't always get a say!! Still, my pink gingham oven gloves do look fabulous on him!

Wow! Sharon, it is completely STUNNING!!! I absolutely love it!

I don't think I've seen a kitchen so perfectly marry old and new so well. And one of the first thing I spotted was the fireplace! I would have done the same, and hung on to it for dear life LOL!

And yes, the colour accents, Elaine, aren't they perfect?

The whole thing is perfect. Well done!

I love your colours! You were brave to do the pink fireplace and it paid off. It's nice when men are comfortable with their manliness and don't have to feel threatened with colours and decoration. I've been lucky too.

Well done on keeping the fireplace, I hate when people rip out features like that and I love your plate rack above the sink. A fab kitchen and I am green with envy :)
